A Love for Creating

Julie’s love for sewing began at an early age, inspired by her grandmother, Odessa Spires Newbern, affectionately known as Mema. From those early lessons in sewing and crafting grew a lifelong appreciation for beautiful fabrics, thoughtful details, and the satisfaction of creating something by hand.

Over the years, Julie continued developing her love for sewing, creating custom drapery, window treatments, and decorative pieces for her own home. What began as a creative passion gradually grew into an opportunity to share her craftsmanship with others. Today, through Gandy Custom Textiles, she brings that same attention to detail and personal care to every project, creating beautiful, thoughtfully made pieces that feel right at home.
